Shama Rukh Alam, FCA

Ms. Shama Rukh Alam is a Chartered Accountant and fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Canada. Ms. Alam completed her graduation in Statistics from the University of Dhaka and then an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of McGill, Montreal, Canada. She started her career as a Financial Analyst in CN Real Estate, a Division of Canadian National Railways and then joined Bank of Montreal, Canada as Senior Financial Analyst. She came back to Bangladesh and joined a multinational  pharmaceutical company as Treasury Manager. She also worked in a multinational tobacco company and a tea Company in a senior management position for over twenty years.

Ms. Alam is the Independent Director of UICL and Chairman of Nomination & Remuneration Committee, Risk Management Committee and Policyholder Protection & Compliance Committee and also a Member of the Audit Committee and Investment Committee.
